3/5/11 -- New Things

I've been able to keep reading, but not as much as I would like. I have been distracted by the wonderful series Farscape. One thing that I didn't appreciate the first go round was the brilliant dialogue. It's beyond words like "frell" and "dren." Words like "microt" and "cycle" are used throughout the series that give life to the other world that Crichton finds himself in. "Arn" is another good example. Instead of reading, I have been watching episode after episode and have become fascinated, again, by how amazing a character Scorpius is. Great show, it's a must see.
Oh, and while I'm on it, I disagree completely with the idea that nonce words should not be used. It makes the story and the characters more real. It's attention to detail and it should be respected when used. Imagine Battlestar without "frak" or "Toaster."
I'm also working on a novel that I think you will enjoy. I have no idea how long it will take, but I'm enjoying it. Breaking a lot of rules about not writing about things in my life, but I can't help it. I'll try to explain more.
